You are invited to
take a "Baby Moon"; with
your newborn...
What is a Baby Moon?
Similar to a "honey moon", a
"Baby Moon" gives you a gift
of time to get to know your
baby and nurture your similar
needs. Both of you need tender
care, nourishment, and lots of
sleep. As a postpartum doula,
I feel honored to help and
support you as you rest, heal,
and bond with your precious
baby.
How will the
postpartum doula meet my
needs?
Bringing home baby
can be simultaneously joyous
and daunting, blissful and
overwhelming, a time of new
beginnings and even a time to
grieve. The postpartum doula
facilitates a calming
atmosphere during this
transition by providing
emotional support. She offers
a nonjudgmental, gentle
approach, encouraging you to
trust your intuition as you
explore motherhood. An
attentive listener, she's able
to recognize "baby blues" and
postpartum depression. She
loves babies! She teaches baby
care, comforting techniques,
how to recognize your baby's
cues, and provides
breastfeeding/bottle-feeding
assistance. She offers
practical support by preparing
nutritious snacks and light
meals and keeping your
household orderly. In essence,
she "mothers the mother".
Since 2001, I have
provided services for more
than 185+ families in the Twin
Cities and DC Metro Areas in a
variety of circumstances:
prenatal bed rest care;
household/nursery
organization; mother/newborn
care; cesarean recovery;
multiples (35 sets of twins);
same-sex couples; adoption;
premature/high-need infants;
apnea monitoring; breast and
bottle feeding; sibling
support; mothers experiencing
postpartum depression and
psychosis; days and
overnights. In addition to the
above, I've walked dogs, run
errands, accompanied moms to
pediatrician visits, addressed
announcements, and hung
pictures, just to name a few.
Supporting new
mothers and families of
newborns is my contribution to
world peace.
